Woodbridge Optometry Legacy – Our Founding Doctors

We thank Dr. Nancy Wilson and Dr. Chris Likens for over 30 years of service to Orange Country families.  We proudly carry the tradition of professional eye care, customer service, and quality products that they established.

Nancy L. Wilson, O.D.

Dr. Nancy Wilson graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry located in Fullerton in 1984 with Magna Cum Laude honors. She opened Woodbridge Optometry with Dr. Likens in June 1985 in Stonecreek Plaza. The office was re-located in 1994, then again in 2013 to the spacious, state-of-the-art optometry office located on the corner of Barranca and Lake.

Dr. Wilson enjoyed building her “Family” eye care practice and the relationships in the community since opening. Dr. Wilson took pride in keeping the frame dispensary up to date in design and with latest frame styles.

Dr. Wilson lives in Irvine with her husband. Her 2 children went through the Irvine school system and are currently living in Denver Colorado. During her children’s school years, she was very active as a “Baseball” mom and a “Cheerleading” mom. Dr. Wilson and her daughter also spent 6 years in National Charity League volunteering many hours in a variety of philanthropies. Her interests include travel, digital photography, running, and baking.

Christopher Likens, O.D.

Dr. Likens was one of the partners at Woodbridge Optometry with Dr. Wilson. He graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1983. While attending optometry school Dr. Likens was awarded the prestigious Irving M. Borish, OD award for an outstanding clinical research paper on the measurement of intraocular pressures.

He has earned his therapeutic treatment licensure in 1996 and his glaucoma management and treatment certification in 2001. He received an advanced glaucoma certification in 2013.

Dr. Likens’ clinical emphasis is in contact lenses and disease treatment of the eye included his special interest in the treatment of dry eyes. He was also a primary clinical investigator for a contact lens company and does consulting work for Allergan.

Dr. Likens has been a resident in Irvine since 1983. He has two grown children just out of college who have enjoyed the Irvine school system. His outside interest include photography; biking, hiking, antique cars and travel. He also has a special interest in technology and enjoyed researching and purchasing the latest optometric instruments, which can be found at Woodbridge Optometry.
